This is another unique offering from Buzzards Field. This is the wearable percussion instrument - 'The Rhythmic'.
Designed to be used by singers within a band or duo, it allows a rhythmic drumming beat to be played whilst singing. It works in the same way a traditional stomp box or cajon does, but this is played from the body with the hands, thus freeing the player movement without being rooted to the spot.
One side produces lower frequency 'thump' sounds (depending on how and where it is hit) whilst the other can be adjusted to create a 'snap' sound similar to a snare on the face of a cajon.
It is designed to be worn with a belt, or a stap (not included) - or simply laid across the thighs if sat. It can be unplugged or silenced whenever not required during an interval. Although it is an electric instrument no batteries are required, however it will require amplification via a standard instrument output jack.
The Rhythmic is built with a wooden chassis, and clad in laser-cut laminate featuring an attractive steam-punk style etched theme. Internally, sound is transmitted via two different piezo pickups via a volume control. The drum pads are covered in a hyper resilient and comfortable neoprene cushion layer.
As if these features were not enough, The Rhythmic is also extremely portable - Weighing just 450g and collapsible to 15x7x10cm meaning it will easily fit into any musicians gig bag, along side their favorite microphone.
You will be very surprised at your ability to create and maintain rhythms and beats during a performance because playing with open palms is entirely intuitive - just like tapping the steering wheel or drumming on a tabletop. Furthermore - as a singer, you'll be the one controlling the tempo!
